Brand-new vehicles belonging to former speakers of Parliament


Former Speakers of Parliament, including Al Haji Moses Kigongo, Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, Rebecca Kadaga, and Prof. Edward Rugumayo, were presented with new vehicles by current Speaker Anita Among. The handover took place on Monday, December 18, 2023, and Among announced that Parliament will provide new cars to former Speakers every 5 years, covering fuel, maintenance, and drivers’ salaries.


Ms. Among expressed gratitude for the presence of the former Speakers and mentioned that the Parliamentary Pensions Act now extends benefits to all Speakers who served Uganda since 1979.
