Child Trafficking Concerns In South Africa



South African authorities have halted buses carrying over 400 unaccompanied children from Zimbabwe, suspecting trafficking. However, an organization representing foreign nationals suggests the children were likely heading to visit parents working in South Africa for year-end holidays. The buses were sent back to Zimbabwe amid concerns about proper documentation for unaccompanied minors. South Africa has been addressing illegal immigration, particularly from Zimbabwe, where a significant number live, with estimates ranging up to 3 million.
