Honest CEO reveals 'Duplicitous' nature of US$140M GRA contract. Atta Ofori

Dr. Mustapha Hamid, the Chief Executive of the NPA, has expressed serious concerns regarding a revenue contract between SML Ghana and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The government pays SML Ghana over US$140 million annually for what seems to be "no work done," as the company fails to identify any revenue anomalies they have addressed. Dr. Hamid revealed that some NPA management members questioned the potential duplication of roles when SML Ghana was tasked with automatic tank gauging, a task already performed by GRA. The NPA CEO emphasized that the existing system for tracking petroleum revenue is robust without SML Ghana's involvement, citing the NPA's ability to monitor fuel product volumes across Ghana. He mentioned a meeting scheduled with SML Ghana to better understand their work but expressed skepticism about the necessity of such a company in the petroleum revenue tracking system.
