John Mahama, has pledged to elevate the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) from 5% to 7% if he wins the 2024 elections

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, has pledged to elevate the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) from 5% to 7% if he wins the 2024 elections. This commitment was expressed in Bole after he cast his vote in the district assembly elections. Mahama stressed that increasing the DACF would be a key initiative to strengthen local governance. In anticipation of victory, he emphasized a dedication to decentralization, addressing ministries, and decentralizing the remaining Municipal and Metropolitan District Assemblies (MMDAs). Mahama urged voters to participate and encouraged the Electoral Commission (EC) to implement measures to avoid issues witnessed in the recent district assembly elections during the upcoming 2024 general elections.
